About EPW

Equipping Pastors Worldwide supports majority world pastors who long to be faithful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, but who are lacking the training and resources to do so. The organisation was born from a merger of the Pastor Training International (PTI) and Christian Books Worldwide (CBW) charities. Over the last 20 years, these charities have been privileged to serve thousands of pastors in regions where the church has grown hugely but where there is great material need.

“I have received the news of the merger between CBW and PTI with immense joy. They have enabled us to get solid Christian books into the hands of those who would not otherwise afford them and in the training of pastors around Africa.”

Equipping Pastors Worldwide remains focussed on three major activities:

  • Providing quality training for pastors in expository preaching. Since its formation in 2004, PTI has delivered over 100 conferences in 12 countries and trained more than 3,000 pastors.
  • Distributing free books to under-resourced pastors throughout the majority world. Since the foundation of CBW in 2009, more than 800,000 books have been distributed to pastors in 65 countries.
  • Translating and distributing sound biblical books for use with non-English speakers in the majority world. To date we have translated books into 41 languages, and distributed more than 120 translated titles in hard-copy or through e-books.

Recently, we have sought to concentrate on establishing hubs in selected locations, working with trusted partners to train local trainers for the future and to more effectively manage our book distribution work, ensuring that our work is culturally relevant and focused on local needs.

Equipping Pastors Worldwide does not offer doctorates or degrees. We simply seek to serve pastors in the majority world who have had relatively little training and limited resources. We long to bless their congregations and communities with the healthy life-giving gospel in a world of many false gospels that deceive and draw people away from biblical faith in Christ.
